Amir Khan has paid tribute to his 'dear friend' Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton who tragically passed away today (September 14).

The world boxing champion, 46, was found dead at his home in Gee Cross, Hyde this morning where a police cordon was in place.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a body has been found and said that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Amir Khan is amongst the many sporting figures who have sent an outpouring of love to the late boxing legend.

Amir told BBC News that he was supposed to be seeing Ricky Hatton in Dubai tomorrow.

"Just this coming Monday he was supposed to be in Dubai for a press conference where I was going to see him," he said.
