The Patriots’ inability to find a consistent kicker continues.
The optimism created by the Patriots’ offense producing touchdowns on their first two drives was negated by the fact that rookie kicker Andy Borregales missed the extra points after both scores.
Borregales, who played his collegiate home games for the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium, made a 22-yard field goal at the end of the first half.
The Patriots have struggled with kicking consistency since trading Nick Folk before the 2023 season.
The Patriots selected Borregales out of Miami in the sixth round of the 2025 draft. He and Parker Romo competed for the job in camp . While Romo was better in the preseason games, New England chose the rookie. Romo was signed by Atlanta and was active for the Falcons on Sunday.
