CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — A centennial celebration taking place Saturday as Erma Harris gathered with her family and friends to celebrate her birthday.

Harris, a Cadet Nurse who was trained for service in World War Two, celebrated the occasion at Dino and Francesca's in Clarks Summit .

When asked about the occasion, Harris said, "My mother's family had some relatives, 98, 99, so it must be in the family, and I am surprised it happened to me."

Harris began her training during wartime in February of 1945, going on to graduate in August of 1947. She credits her family for keeping her going all these years.
