BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham Police Department confirms a man was arrested in connection with a shooting they said happened on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025.

Police say 25-year-old Gabriel Miguel Chavez was arrested by the BPD Crime Reduction Team on Friday, Sept. 12.

Chavez is facing attempted murder and 2nd degree assault charges.

He was being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $75,000 bond, but according to jail records, Chavez has bonded out.
