LIPSCOMB, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A city long marked by controversy is preparing for a new chapter as Lipscomb welcomes a new mayor. Robin Sims, who once faced off against the city he now leads, says he is ready to turn the page and focus on healing, accountability, and trust.

“What took place in the past is the past. I’m coming in with fresh eyes, with a fresh mind, with fresh sight, fresh vision and I’m going to get on one accord with the city council,” Sims said.

For Sims, the win represents more than just a political victory. It grants him entry into city hall — an office he once couldn’t legally step foot inside. After announcing his candidacy, Sims said he quickly went from city employee to city outsider.
