KIMBERLY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Kimberly Police Department may be small, but Chief Ron Sellers says the work his officers do is every bit as important as larger agencies across Jefferson County.
With just under 6,000 residents, Kimberly is a growing bedroom community filled with subdivisions, schools, and churches. Sellers says the department’s focus is on connection and visibility.
“Kimberly is not one of those towns that has a large commercial base. We’re more of a bed-and-breakfast town,” Sellers said. “We do a lot of time patrolling neighborhoods, making sure people see us at churches, at schools, just being present.”
Sellers said he makes it a priority to be out in the community every day, from checking on neighborhoods in the mornings to stopping by schools and local events.
