HOOVER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A shopping staple in Hoover is generating less and less sales tax every year, according to a new study .
Hoover city leaders are looking to revitalize the Riverchase Galleria, which was a major issue in the recent municipal election cycle.
Nearby businesses say the Galleria is a big economic driver, and if it is successful, they will be too.
“If there is more traffic, I’m getting more business,” said Saleem William.
Just across the street from the Riverchase Galleria, William runs the store inside the Mobil gas station.
He relies on traffic along Montgomery Highway to stay open and he wants to see the Galleria expand to ensure longevity.
“I want to return Sears here, and other places, so more people come here,” William said.
