BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham Police Department confirms two women were shot Sunday afternoon in the northern part of the city.

Around 1:23 p.m., police were called to the 3100 block of 32nd Avenue North to investigate.

Authorities said two women suffered gunshot wounds, but they gave no details about the extent of their injuries other than saying they believed the injuries were not life-threatening.
