SARDIS CITY, Ala. (WHNT) -- A teen is dead after a head-on collision between an ATV and truck in Etowah County on Saturday evening.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened on Cox Gap Road near Walter Whitt Road at about 3:24 p.m.

A 15-year-old was killed when the ATV he was driving hit a truck driven by a 16-year-old. ALEA says the 15-year-old was thrown from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA's Highway Patrol Division is now investigating.
