ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 15-year-old was killed in a crash involving an ATV in Etowah County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The 15-year-old was operating a Yamaha Kodiak 700 that hit a Toyota Tacoma head-on. A 16-year-old was driving the pickup truck. The crash happened around 3:24 p.m. on Cox Gap Road by Walter Whitt Road, which is north of Gadsden and southeast of Boaz.

The 15-year-old was tossed from the ATV and died at the scene.
