A driver was killed Saturday evening after his motorcycle veered off the highway and struck a telephone pole in Burlington County, New Jersey State Police said.

Troopers responded to County Road 532 near Milepost 7 in Tabernacle Township shortly before 8:30 p.m., authorities said.

Thomas Williams, 47, of Marlton, was riding west on the highway when his motorcycle ran off the road to the right, struck a pole and overturned. He died after being thrown from the vehicle, state police said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available Sunday.

According to State Police data , more than 58% of all motor vehicle fatalities between 2015 and 2023 involved motorcycles.
