Lenawee County, Mich (WTVG) - A woman is dead after a crash in Raisin Township Sunday morning, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Sunday on Occidental Highway near Ridgemont Drive.

A 2008 gold Mercury was traveling southbound on Occidental Highway. The car drove through a curve in the roadway, south of Gady Road, authorities said.

Once through the curve, the car went off the right side of the road and hit a tree, according to deputies.

Deputies say the driver, an 81-year-old woman from Tecumseh, Michigan, was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The crash is now under investigation.
