Karbi Anglong is preparing to play an active role in Assam’s upcoming week-long welfare drive, a state-wide initiative scheduled from September 17 to 25. Announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners, the programmes are designed to take a mix of healthcare, financial aid, and social recognition directly to the people.

The week will begin on September 17 with a voluntary blood donation campaign and will see the expansion of the government’s flagship Orunodoi scheme from version 2.0 to 3.0, widening its coverage to reach more households with financial assistance. Other initiatives include a plantation drive to promote environmental sustainability, the distribution of land pattas to religious institutions, support for tuberculosis patients
