A desperate manhunt is underway for a man and woman who may be armed amid an alleged crime spree, with a homemade firearm having already been recovered by police.
A suburban area of the Sunshine was placed under lock down on Sunday as an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) was declared after it was reported a Mitsubishi Outlander had crashed.
Police had been called to an area near Old Caloundra Road in Glenview about 11.14am that morning following reports of the crash, when the occupants were seen fleeing into bushland.
The vehicle had allegedly been stolen near a service station on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield around 5:45am, after its driver was threatened with a firearm.
