HOUSTON — U.S. Senator Ted Cruz covered graffiti in Houston that contained a profane message targeting Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was shot and killed while speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
According to a post on X, Cruz said the graffiti was put over U.S. 59.
He said the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) was notified and expressed confidence that they would remove the markings.
The senator shared photos and video of him covering the graffiti with white paint, saying in part, "But, in the meantime, Texans don’t have to look at this hateful garbage anymore."
