A 14-year-old was killed when the dirt bike he was riding went off the road and struck a rocky embankment in Hebron on Sunday.
The crash occurred as the teen, identified as Erik Brooker of Hebron, was headed west on Burnt Hill Road on a Honda CRF 150F shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police .
State police said he failed to negotiate “S” shaped curves in the road in the area of Cone Road, where he lost control of the bike. The Honda went off the right side of the road and struck a rocky embankment, leading to the teen being thrown from the bike, according to state police.
State police said Brooker was seriously injured and was taken in an ambulance to Marlborough Middlesex Clinic, where he was pronounced dead.
