Tropical Storm Mario has reformed in the Pacific Ocean off the southwestern coast of Mexico and will strengthen slightly before beginning to weaken on the evening of Monday, Sept. 15.
Mario had formed on Sept. 12, but by the evening of Sept. 13, the hurricane center reported Mario was no longer a tropical storm.
The storm regenerated on Sept. 14 and according to an early morning advisory from the National Hurricane Center on Sept. 15 , Mario was located about 285 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph with higher gusts.
"Some slight strengthening is expected today, with steady weakening beginning by late tonight and continuing on Tuesday," the NHC said in the Sept. 15 advisory. Mario is moving toward the west-northwest ne
