WEST FARGO — Leaving the Prairie West Golf Club in Mandan last October still resonates with the West Fargo Sheyenne girls golf team.
The Mustangs finished in second place in the 2024 North Dakota Class A state tournament, losing to Grand Forks Red River by 14 strokes.
Sheyenne entered the state tournament undefeated in team play.
“Losing the state tournament has been in the back of our minds,” said senior golfer Payton Stocker, who took second place as a junior with a two-round total of 157.
“We won every event, except the one we wanted to,” added Mustangs head coach Dan Wolf.
Fast forward nearly a year, not much has changed. Sheyenne remains undefeated as a team this season. The Mustangs broke multiple program records at the Fargo Davies Invite at Rose Creek last Tuesday.
