Scots are being warned over a new bank card scam costing victims thousands as fraudsters impersonate bank staff to offer home visits. ‌

Trading Standards Scotland said several older people had recently been targeted by scammers who cold call victims to say they have been issued with a new bank card. ‌

Fraudsters then offer to deliver the new card in person, handing over a fake one and asking the victim to hand back their old card to be destroyed. ‌

One man lost more than £2,000 after being duped by the crooks .
