An 18-year-old man was ordered held without bail Friday for allegedly threatening to shoot up a Falmouth school, according to officials and legal filings.
Ian Fotheringham, of Falmouth, pleaded not guilty in Barnstable District Court to a charge of threatening to use a deadly weapon in a public building, authorities said.
Judge Edward F. X. Lynch ordered Fotheringham held pending a dangerousness hearing Tuesday, when the teenager will also be evaluated for competency to stand trial, records show.
Fotheringham’s lawyer, Krysten Condon, said via email that he “denies all allegations. The allegations amount to speculation and conjecture. He has not even made threats. I am very confident he will be found not guilty at trial.”
