A drug dealer caught producing cannabis worth tens of thousands of pounds has been jailed after police raided a house where he was sleeping.

David Tonks was asleep in a bedroom when officers smashed their way into the property in Lichfield .

The 45-year-old was growing cannabis inside which was estimated to be worth £36,400 in street value.

Police found the Class-B drug in the loft which had been converted into a grow.

Tonks, of Streethay, Lichfield , was sentenced after he admitted a series of drug offences including being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
