In a PennLive piece published on August 25, Jim Dunlop is spot-on when he says, “ Private education may cost less than you think .”

Mr. Dunlop, a financial advisor, stated that, “the average net price for tuition and fees for full-time undergraduate students at four-year, private, nonprofit colleges decreased,” and that “the perception that tuition is becoming more expensive is false. The data show your family is in a better position than you were 10 or 20 years ago to map out a realistic, affordable path to a college education.”

I can attest that this is true as a former college president and as the current president of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP).
