State police charged a Franklin County man with attempted homicide after they say he fired several rounds of a 12-gauge shotgun at a car after a dispute with the victims.

Travis Hockenberry, 53, of Doylesburg, was charged with attempted homicide and attempted aggravated assault after the September 14 incident. It happened in the 2300 block of Burns Valley Road in Fannett Township.

Chambersburg state police responded to a call from a shooting stemming from a “sexual assault incident.” Police said they discovered Hockenberry was in an “altercation” with the victims and fired several rounds, striking their vehicle.

It’s unclear if the victims were inside or just near the vehicle when the shots were fired.
