Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will undergo surgery on his left big toe and is expected to miss at least three months.

Burrow suffered the injury during Sunday’s 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars when he was sacked in the second quarter and left the field limping. He later returned to the sideline on crutches with his foot in a walking boot. Tests revealed a torn ligament and what doctors classified as a Grade 3 turf toe injury, which typically requires surgery.
The procedure is expected to sideline the two-time Pro Bowler until December at the earliest. Backup quarterback Jake Browning, who replaced Burrow against the Jaguars, is set to take over as the starter.
