WAUPUN, Wis. (WBAY) - A Dodge County judge has dismissed a case against one of the Waupun Correctional Institution employees arrested last year following two inmate deaths.

The Dodge County district attorney asked the judge to dismiss the felony charge of Abuse of Residents of a Penal Facility against Alexander Hollfelder.

Hollfelder had pleaded not guilty to the charge that he was involved in an inmate’s death.

District Attorney Andrea Will’s motion to the court said Hollfelder was on family medical leave and only returned a few days before the death of the inmate, identified in records as Victim A.

Immediately before the death, Hollfelder reported concerns to his supervisor and the Health Services Unit.
