Some interesting chatter surfaced late last week, when President Donald Trump casually floated the possibility of sending National Guard troops to St. Louis to help enforce the law.
It seems that chatter was news to the Missouri and St. Louis delegations in Washington.
The offices of GOP U.S. Sens. Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt — as well as Democratic U.S. Rep. Wesley Bell, whose district includes the city — all heard about the idea of troop deployment to the Gateway City from the same source as reporters: the " Fox & Friends " television show.
On the Friday edition of the show, Trump talked with the hosts about sending National Guard troops to Memphis, as he had done in Washington.
The president then said the CEO of the
