BEAUMONT, Texas — The Symphony of Southeast Texas will launch its 73rd season Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Julie Rogers Theatre with a concert celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month , featuring Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vo and works by Hispanic and Mexican composers.
Maestro Chelsea Tipton II announced the season opener will include Symphonia Number 9 by Marquez, pieces by composer Chavez, and Maurice Ravel's "Bolero," a showcase piece highlighting Spanish dance traditions. The program also features Rodrigo's guitar concerto, performed by Vo, whose second movement audiences will likely recognize.
"We're excited about this music," Tipton said during a recent interview with 12News. "We are gonna be celebrating Hispanic National Hispanic Heritage Month, so we have some music by so
