BOSTON, MA – A Dominican national living unlawfully in Boston has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for reentering the United States after being deported, prosecutors announced.

Danny Miguel Tejada Hernandez, 29, received a 37-month prison sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Brian E. Murphy, followed by two years of supervised release. He will be subject to deportation after serving his sentence. Tejada Hernandez pleaded guilty in June to one count of unlawful reentry after deportation.

Court records show Tejada Hernandez was deported in August 2021 following a 2020 conviction in Chelsea District Court for multiple controlled substance distribution offenses. At some point after his removal, he returned unlawfully to the United States.
