Calvin University’s second-year football team celebrated an historic moment in style, as the Knights defeated Concordia, 34-7, in the program’s first on-campus game.
In its inaugural 2024 season, Calvin played its home games at nearby Grand Rapids Christian High School, and while the Knights’ football stadium is still under construction, the new on-campus soccer stadium will be home for 2025.
The Knights, who opened the year with a road win over Oberlin , improved to 2-0 and put together their first winning streak in program history in front of a crowd of nearly 3,000.
Sophomore running back and Ravenna High School grad Hunter Hogan led Calvin with a school-record 215-rushing yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries, with this first scoring covering 17 yards and giving Calvin a 14-0 lea
