KALAMAZOO, MI — Traffic crashes in the city of Kalamazoo remain on a downward trend this year.
Kalamazoo saw 1,328 crashes in the first seven months of the year, per a city press release. Of them, two have been fatal. Another 19 resulted in serious injury.
The 2025 data represents a 9% decline in crashes so far this year.
In the same seven-month period of 2024, the city recorded 1,466 crashes, per the release, two deaths and 24 serious injuries.
There were a total of 2,249 traffic crashes in 2024, per city data, the fewest for any year in the past decade.
