GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Police Department is warning about a new robbery trend hitting businesses in the city.

According to Division Chief Dean Elliott a person, or persons, dressed in dark clothing are entering laundromats overnight and vandalizing Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) in an attempt to get money out of them.

There have been around five incidents in the past few months, according to Elliott.

The most recent incident took place on Sept. 14 at Lucky Duck Laundromat.

According to Elliott, people tend to do this overnight when fewer people are around in an effort not to be caught.
