KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - If you want math to be adding Travis Kelce’s receiving yards per game or geography to be learning about the city your team is playing next, a “NFeLementary” classroom is perfect for you.
“So many kids that I’ve taught over the years LOVE football, and it’s such a nice way to form a bond and relationship with them,” said Amanda Reinert, a fourth grade teacher at Park Elementary in Kearney. “Mary always says the lessons that we learn go beyond the gridiron, and I think that’s just such a nice message to send to kids and really made me want to be a part of this program.”
Mary Crippen, an elementary school teacher in Miami, Fla., co-founded “NFeLementary” with her mom who started using the NFL in the classroom in 1999.
Crippen took the lessons she was teaching to soci
