Is it inconsiderate to recline your airplane seat — especially if you’re sitting in front of a family?

Last week, Matilda Norton, a mother of two, posted a TikTok video that went viral with more than 4 million views, complaining that a passenger in front of her and her two children had reclined his seat.

Some commenters said Norton was “selfish,” however, she stands her ground in an interview with TODAY.com.

“I hold a firm stance on not reclining your seat on short, domestic daytime flights,” Matilda Norton, a mother of two, tells TODAY.com . “It’s unnecessary because there’s already no space.”

Norton adds: “Just because you have kids, you shouldn’t be granted extra courtesy — but everyone needs to study up on their plane etiquette.”
