BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man has been accused of setting fire to roughly 20 residential buildings in three hours, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court on Monday.
Officials announced the arrest and charge of 32-year-old Bryan Oviedo on Monday in connection with a string of fires across Brooklyn last month.
According to the complaint, Oviedo was seen on surveillance video carrying a trash bag, wearing a "distinctive" skirt and white top, while riding the G train and walking through Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights on Aug. 20 between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Officials said Oviedo was setting fires to approximately 20 residential buildings, including the Church of St. Luke & St. Matthew on Clinton Avenue. One surveillance video caught Oviedo leaning over a trash can
