The San Francisco Public Library’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month is underway, highlighting such cultures and traditions through several free, all-ages at branches throughout The City.

The library system’s ongoing series, “¡VIVA!: A Celebration of Latinx Cultures and Traditions” will include film screenings, music performances, author talks, crafting and other events in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated each year from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

Francisco Cardona, the SFPL’s Latinx program manager, said the ensuing weeks of celebration are an acknowledgment of The City’s Latino population being “huge and diverse, with roots in many different countries and cultures.”
