ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – A Massachusetts man has been convicted of murder in connection with a shooting that occurred in Elmira in May of 2024.
Dante M. Baldwin, 29, was convicted on Monday, Sept. 15, of murder in the second degree (class A felony) and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (class C felony) by a Chemung County Grand Jury, as stated in a release from the Chemung County District Attorney's Office.
Previous reports state that Baldwin was charged with the crime in October of 2024, after being found on a superior court warrant in connection with a late-night shooting that occurred outside of a bar on 351 East Washington Ave in Elmira on May 21, 2024, that killed 44-year-old Norman Cherry.
