WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Warrick County Commissioners have provided an update on the cleanup efforts at Vann Road Park following recent ash and debris issues.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has completed cleaning all outdoor hard surfaces, including ballfields and playgrounds.

The park is set to reopen on Tuesday, September 16th.

While the park will be accessible, the pond remains closed as additional cleanup is required. Officials are ensuring the area is safe for fishing.

Preliminary testing shows the ash’s pH levels are lower than initially reported, falling within a safe range. Residents should be aware that the ash contains byproducts from metal combustion, which could cause skin irritation.

Residents can begin cleaning ash from their properties using vinegar
