Well folks, it’s been a decidedly hot stretch for Southern Indiana, and our team has been closely watching the patterns. We’re seeing high temperatures through Thursday that are running about 7 to 10 degrees, or even more, above what we'd typically expect for this time of year.
This isn't just a brief warm-up; it’s a sustained heat event. While it is certainly feeling hot, the good news is that the lower atmospheric moisture levels are helping to keep our heat indices, or "feels like" temperatures, much closer to the actual air temperatures. We won't be seeing those extreme, dangerous heat index values, which is a slight silver lining in this otherwise very warm pattern.
