DENHOFF, N.D. (KFYR) - Kevin Vietz, a Denhoff volunteer firefighter for decades, is recovering after a tornado destroyed his home this weekend, leaving only his basement intact.

While this would have been unwelcome news for many, Vietz said he is only thinking about how grateful he is for his friends and religious faith. Unbeknownst to him, his friends set up a GoFundMe page to help him raise funds and replace his home.

“There are more things more important in the world than money, and if you know somebody wanted to just pray or call or you know whatever, keep me in thoughts over where God leads them— that will mean more than even just money,” said Vietz.
