NEW YORK (PIX11) — A popular women's clothing retailer has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement in an alleged data breach in 2023.
Francesca's, a nationwide clothing retail business, was accused of failing to protect customer data when an unauthorized third party had gained access to its network and files between Jan. 12 and Jan. 31, 2023.
The business, which has several locations on Long Island and in New Jersey, allegedly waited nearly eight months to disclose the breach to customers, according to the class action suit.
Class members can receive up to $1,500 for ordinary losses, such as credit expenses, communication charges or bank fees. Members can also receive up to five hours of lost time at $25 per hour.
