SALT LAKE CITY — Whitney Loosle said getting her kids vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella is just one way she’s looking after their health.

“Mentally healthy, physically [and] emotionally, there’s so many different types of healthy,” Loosle told KSL. “I just want to protect my kids.”

But as more Utah parents choose not to vaccinate their children for measles, the choice now has an impact on the overall protection against the disease in communities across our state. In partnership with NBC news, KSL examined what that trend means in Utah.
