GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Police are still investigating after receiving three reports of fondling in an East Carolina University residence hall.

One of the students, Adyson Trefzger, said she was offered a hug by the suspect early Sunday morning in Clement Hall but was not touched, thanks in part to the intervention of her friends.

According to ECU Deputy Chief of Police Chris Sutton, the suspect also approached residents on different floors and was reported for fondling by three different people. Sutton also said ECU police have reason to believe the suspect is not a student.

Trefzger said she does not know why the suspect was there, but that students are trying to stay safe.
