SAULT STE. MARIE — The search is on for a new city manager after the current one resigned.

It’s a story 9&10 News first brought you Friday when we first learned that city manager, Brian Chapman, put in his letter of resignation to city commissioners that morning.

At Monday’s city commission meeting, members unanimously voted to officially accept his resignation.

Chapman was manager for six years in the city that has a population of around 13,000.

Before managing the Soo, he was city manager in Vassar for four years.

Mayor Don Gerrie said chapman’s contract was just renewed earlier this year for five years.

Robyn Troyer was unanimously voted in to be acting city manager.
