JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., (WJHL) - The East Tennessee State University chapter of Turning Point USA held a vigil honoring the life of political activist and founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at a university event in Utah.

The vigil featured a prayer service and reflections on Kirk's life and mission. People also shared how Kirk's beliefs impacted their lives.

"Charlie Kirk had a great impact on my faith," said ETSU student Connor Vincent. "He impacted my interest in politics, and that's something I really took to heart ever since I started watching his videos on YouTube and Turning Point USA stuff."
