MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are looking for suspects in two mass shootings that erupted on the city's near south side Monday, leaving 13 people injured.
The latest shooting occurred around 10 p.m. at a homeless encampment at East Lake Street and South 28th Avenue. Eight people are recovering from gunshot wounds, with four described as being in serious condition.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey arrived at the shooting scene and vowed that the city would clear the encampment after the investigation concludes on Wednesday morning. This encampment is on private property, and the city of Minneapolis filed documents to sue Hamoudi Sabri, the property owner, after he refused to clear it last week.
