DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. ( WALA ) - Court documents reveal two people have filed a temporary restraining order against the town of Dauphin Island to protect the foxes on the west end beach.
This comes after the island’s town council voted to move forward with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, which is a part of the Department of Agriculture, to prevent invasive animals like foxes from destroying protected wildlife.
According to the TRO, the plaintiffs are residents of Dauphin Island, Duane Wood, and local photographer Spence Harrison.
The document was signed by circuit judge Michael Youngpeter, ordering Mayor Jeff Collier, the council and the town to stop the killing, removal, or relocation of any and all foxes.
