BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Good morning!
Once again today, the weather remains mostly quiet. Temperatures are starting in the upper 50s in east Alabama, with mid-to-upper 60s elsewhere.
THE NEXT 24 HOURS : This afternoon, temperatures will reach highs in the lower 90s. A small, isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out this afternoon for mainly east Alabama. Overnight, temperatures will fall back into the upper 60s as clouds move in.
Drought conditions are continuing to get worse across central Alabama due to the lack of a good, soaking rain. The last time Birmingham saw measurable rain was Sept. 1, where .19″ was collected.
It is important to avoid burning of any kind while the ground remains dry and crispy. We are seeing increasing brush fire reports around the state.
