CLEMSON — Clemson University has fired two professors over their comments disparaging conservative activist and podcaster Charlie Kirk, who was shot to death on Sept. 10.

The announcement, at 9:12 a.m. Sept. 16, came less than 24 hours after a Clemson Board of Trustees meeting where members announced that President James Clements was charged “to take immediate and appropriate measures regarding the employees in question.”

The university did not name the professors. Their firing came a day after the university fired a staff member for similar reasons.

This is a developing story that will be updated.
