The esteemed actor and pioneer of the Sundance Film Festival has sadly passed away in his sleep on Tuesday morning at his residence in Utah. ‌

His publicist, Cindi Berger, confirmed to Deadline: "Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah, the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. ‌

"He will be missed greatly. The family requests privacy."

The iconic actor was 89 years old at the time of his passing, reports the Mirror .
