FARGO — Swedish meatballs, hymns and memories will be part of a milestone for Messiah Lutheran Church, which celebrates its 75th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 21.

And the community is invited to join in the party.

The congregation began in 1950 as Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, a Sunday School mission supported by Fargo’s Elim Lutheran Church. From its first 100 charter members, it grew into a neighborhood congregation best known for "The Hour of Worship," a televised service that started in 1967 and still airs across North Dakota, neighboring states and Canada. In Fargo-Moorhead, you can watch it at 11 a.m. Sundays on WDAY-TV.
